Diane Abbott is standing for the leadership of the Labour party in the UK.


A left-wing backbencher, Diane was also the first female black MP. She is the only woman to stand so far in the contest. Harriet Harman has said she will not stand.

She's my MP too :) I don't think she'll get it, but I reckon it would be pretty cool if she did. And VERY glad there's at least one woman in the running.

I'd like it if she won. But then she'd have to stop hanging out with Michael Portillo. And that would be a sad loss :-(
